These areas, I agree, are vital to the education of a student. Equally important is the knowledge and awareness of our physical bodies and how being active can expand and enhance physical skills and attitudes towards shaping a healthy active lifestyle. A mistake that educators often make is using physical education as a reward or a punishment for behavior in the classroom setting. My children, who are all elementary school age, have told me those students who are well behaved and finished all their assignments on time will receive extra P.E. time. The students who are excessive talkers and misbehave will have their P.E. time totally removed from their schedule for the week. The educators in the classroom should not practice this form of reward and punishment. I am confident that many teachers would agree that if a child is distracted, talkative and not focused on their reading assignment in the morning session, then it would be absurd to punish this student by taking away their History or Math class for the afternoon class. Likewise, it would be unrealistic to offer extra work in Science as a result of good behavior. We should not treat Physical education as if it is an option in our curriculum and one we can manipulate to our advantage as an educator for good behavior in the traditional classroom setting. Physical education should be treated as a vital part of a childs education. A curriculum without Physical education is simply not effective or complete. In teaching the student as a whole, an educator must take into account all the areas of development in a child, including the physical needs of a childs growth. The children who had participated in school physical education programs got less than 1 hour and 45 minutes each week. Steps Taken to Assess and Address Workplace Issues The major model that was dealt with in this case was Complex Adaptive System (CAS). For the last 3 decades, the speed with which business cycle is done has increased dramatically. There are significant changes that are taking place faster than the past product cycles while markets have turned out to be nearly unpredictable such that traditional management paradigms are not capable of maintaining a stable rate (Joiner Josephs, 2006). At our company, this had been a notable issue in that transforming from traditional to modern organizational management styles, which are currently applied in our company, was quite slow. CAS was suggested and proved to help the management solve the problems that it was facing. In this case an organization is reviewed as an adaptive system that should match to complexities of its surrounding. In this organization, employees complained about difficulties of coordination between departments and, consequently, several other activities of the company. Hand Over Hand Prompting in Special Education Prompting is an important tool in teaching children with disabilities, especially children with disabilities that significantly effect their ability to learn functional or life skills. Prompting happens across a continuum, from the most invasive, physical prompts, to the least invasive, gestural prompts. What Is Hand Over Hand Prompting? Hand over hand prompting is the most invasive of all prompting strategies. Also known as a full physical prompt, it can often involve actually doing the activity with the student. The person teaching the skill places his hand over the hand of the student, and may actually manipulate the hand of the child. Hand over hand prompting may help a young child learn how to manipulate a pair of scissor, either regular student scissors or special spring scissors. The goal of the teacher/practitioner is to begin to fade the hand over hand prompt, perhaps pairing it with a verbal prompt as the physical prompt is faded. Sometimes the hand over prompt can be faded to a less invasive prompt, such as a finger tap on the back of childs hand, to remind them of the hand formation. Example of Hand Over Hand Prompting Emily, a six-year-old with multiple disabilities, requires a very high level of support to learn life skills. Her aide, Ms. Ramona, places her hand over Emilys to provide hand over hand support as she learns to brush her teeth.
